What does xe stand for on cars?

It can mean experimental. Or can mean really nothing. Car manufacturers use designations like X, XE SC, LS, LX, to designate trim levels of automobiles. They may also use the designation to determine the engine size, whether it's a diesel or gas, or any number of other things.
