If your accelerator suddenly gets stuck what should you do?

Put the transmission in neutral, pull over and stop immediately (safely), turn off the engine. Do not drive the vehicle again until the problem has been rectified.

Don't turn off the engine first, you will make the vehicle very hard to steer and stop. The power brakes and Power Steering only work with the engine running.
