Capping is the maximum amount one can avail under different heads covered in the health insurance plan, like room rent and ICU charges. If expenses come out to be more than the specified limit, than that amount paid by the policyholder.

A lifetime limit on the dollar amount of certain types of claims (e.g. mental health related). Usually such caps only apply to narrow areas and not to others and often force people that could easily be treated to quit treatment and their condition deteriorates.
