Oh, I know what you mean. When you're that bored, your brain has even shut down leaving you helpless. Once I realized that, I had to figure our if it was something as simple as not having had enough sleep. Then it's time to take a nap. This is also the type of boredom that drives some people to the fridge; don't do it!
The next likely culprit is that your circulation hasn't had enough stimulation and your brain is functioning on subsistence oxygen. That's easy to overcome, by just a small amount of physical activity. It doesn't have to be something you care about, just to something to move your body. You are really lucky if you have a flight of stairs where you are. At home, find and excuse to go down (or up) to get or do something; as small as using the bathroom on another floor, getting a new box of tissues for your room, checking the laundry area for something that may need sorting or folding (one load won't kill you). At school, when you go to your next class, use the stairs; if your next class, the restroom, or your locker is on the same floor, go down (or up) one flight and up (or down) the other; if your school is one level, briskly walk the longest route to your next class or go to the farthest restroom. You want your brain functioning before the next class. If you're at work, use these same techniques for a five minute break or an errand to another part of the building. The day will really drag if you don't do something.
Another brain deficiency that can lead to excessive boredom is low serotonin, the chemical that makes us feel good. You will have to give it a little nudge. Doing something that will give a little satisfaction or makes you or someone else happy. It doesn't have to be big like cleaning out a closet, it can be as little as that trip to the laundry, or fix a bowl of jello or a tube of refrigerated rolls for dinner. If you're at school or work, even though you're feeling glum put on a smile and say 'hi' to people; look for someone that you can say, 'can I help you with that', even if you don't know the person. If you can come up with just two or three little efforts that will generate some serotonin, you will feel much better. I usually find one little thing that leads me to another and I'll completely forget that I was bored.
Now, if you've finished reading all this and you're still bored and miserable, read it again. As low as you feel, you have to put in a little effort to help yourself... Unless you have your own fairy god mother of course.
