Do most comets orbit between mars and Jupiter?

No, some are in the same orbit as Jupiter, some are in the inner solar system, near and between the orbits of the planets (even though no asteroids were ever discovered inside the orbit of Mercury)

There are even asteroids beyond the orbit of Jupiter.
