Why would a mailman have a bad day?

If this is not supposed to be a joke, than a mailman would have a bad day because, you know, ANIMALS. Mailmen would usually carry around a spray bottle to spray dogs or animals in front yards when delivering mail. Perhaps someone leaves their bottle in their truck or in the office, you get bit by a dog or creature, and your day turns upside down.
