God's love for humanity is everywhere.around us. It is evident in the humming of insects, the singing of birds, the rustling of small and big animals. It exists in the icy polar regions and in parched deserts. Beneath our feet untold trillions of microorganisms are at work in the soil, making it fertile for the growing of green plants, which sustain other forms of life. Earth is packed with life so abundant and varied as to stagger the imagination.
When God created our progenitor Adam and Eve He provided an ideal place to live in with abundant and varied food to live on forever. Read Genesis 2: 15-17.
Genesis chapter 3 shows that Adam and Eve had the opportunity to communicate with their Creator. Genesis 3: 17 shows that Adam had the choice to either live forever or die. God said " But as for the tree of knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will certainly die"
Adam knew that if he did not eat from that tree, he would not have died That command found in Genesis 2: 17 would have made no sense if Adam was meant to grow old and die anyway. By not eating from the tree, the first couple would have shown their obedience to he One who gave them life. It would have shown that they recognized God's right to direct their ways.
The rest is history. Romans 5: 12 shows that death spread like a disease on mankind, in these Words. " That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, ( The Word "sin" means the lost of perfection).
God's expression of love is found in the gift given to mankind to repair our lost of perfection. 1 John 4: 9 reads. " By this the love of God was revealed in our case, that God has sent his only begotten Son into the world so that we might gain life through him.
The gain of life through Jesus Christ means that we have to live up to God's standards. 1 John 5: 19 reads " We know that we originate with God, but the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one. Revelation 12: 9 describes the wicked one in these Words. "The original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth. Genesis 3: 1-5 explains how his influence came into mankind's life.
Today the whole world is under two influences. Jesus' influences and Satan's influences. 1 John 5: 20 shows that Jesus came on earth to give us insight so that we may gain knowledge of the one who is true. Satan made Eve believe that God was a liar and promised her that she will be like God, and that she will not die, if she listened to him. Read Genesis 3: 4,5. Well ! That did not happen. Did it?
What actually happened is, our world is facing the highest number of conflicts--a quarter of humanity live in places affected by such conflicts, and we cannot look to human institutions for lasting peace and security.
The Encyclopedia Britannica said " Although collective security played a prominent part in the League of Nations Covenant and is embodied in the United Nations Charter, it has completely failed.
Jerimiah 10: 23 reminds us that " It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step". Which confirms that it is Satan who is the liar when he promised Eve that "she will become like God." John 8: 44 shows that Satan is the father of the lie.
So to answer your question of " How has God expressed his love for mankind? " God has created us with a wonderful opportunity to take in knowledge concerning His purpose for mankind, which is the gift of everlasting life, by sending His only begotten Son to save us from our inheritage left by Adam and Eve.
1 Timothy 2: 4,-6 reads." Whose will ( God's will ) is that all sorts of people should be saved and come to an accurate knowledge of truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus, who gave himself a corresponding ransom for all".
Those who will be saved are those who have taken in the accurate knowledge and have made the effort to live up to God's standards, and be part of the righteous ones, who will possess the earth and live forever on it, as promised in Psalms 37: 29. Which was what was required from Adam and Eve .
Kind regards
