How was triple alliance formed?

The Triple Alliance was formed in 1882 among Germany, Austria-Hungary, and Italy. It emerged from earlier agreements, particularly the Dual Alliance between Germany and Austria-Hungary, which aimed to counter the influence of France and Russia. Italy joined the alliance to secure support against France, particularly regarding territorial ambitions in North Africa. The alliance was primarily a defensive pact, intended to provide military support in case any member was attacked.
