Will there be a third triple x movie?

As of 2009, Producer Frank Spotnitz has not ruled it out. There is a final story they wish to tell, maybe not this year or the next, but Spotnitz is hopeful that Fox will greenlight a movie in a few years. Fox executives themselves have said they would like to see another movie and that I Want to Believe (2008) was the film the show's creator Chris Carter wanted to make, and that they were happy for him to do that, in the hope that they would do another movie in a couple of years.
