How are the criminally insane treated?

Much as any other behavioral mental client or person served. They receive meds as needed, medical and psychotherapy, gruop councilling, etc. Communication with the outside is often but not always more limited. And physical security -- staff protection, invasion and perimeter maintenance are all significantly rigorous. As with any hospital, the focus is in treatment; not on punishment.
