How many fish die per day because of oil spills?

This number would be impossible to determine for several reasons:

• There are a lot of unreported oil spills. Even if they could be reported there is no standard size or impact for spills that cause problems
• A study to report on fish deaths would reauire weeks of time and many experts
• Fish come in many sizes. Of zooplankton is included the number of individual fish in an area becomes astronomical
• WOuld fish killed by the cleanup, not the spill, be included. Would fish not harvested in an area if commercial fishing id curtailled be counted as a plus as those fish were "saved"
