Well, if you adopt an ex racer that has maybe been abandoned, not much at all; you will just have to make a donation to the place where you are getting the dog from, which the minimum is £20 which is a lot cheaper than buying a non-ex-racer. For a little extra info - greyhounds are great with children, do not molt much and are often quite obedient. But if you are adopting an ex-racer, then don't if you have cats, because they will chase anything furry that looks remotely like the furry fake rabbit that they are made to chase on a race track.
