THE CHANCES OF GETTING IN A CAR ACCIDENT ARE LESS. THAT IS IF PEOPLE STOP TALKING ON THE PHONE WHILE DRIVING. ESPECIALLY TEENAGERS.

CAUTION!!- Propaganda machine at work. Something to remember, correlation does NOT equal causation. Look, cell phones are popular. As a result the number of drivers that are on cell phones will increase and hence the number of accidents of drivers on cell phones will. It would be like if some kind of new clothing comes out, i don't know a hat. It becomes extremely popular. Soon we notice that a large number of accidents involved people wearing those damned hats. By the above logic it would be the fault of people wearing those damned hats "especially teenagers".

I'm not saying its safe. But the biggest reason people get into accidents is people not paying attention. Bottom line is it used to be the same way with the stereo/CD player. And you know what? It wasn't the stereo it was people not paying attention. its not the lady putting her makeup on, its people not paying attention. its not the act of fumbling in your glove box, its people not paying attention. We could outlaw all of these things but in the end the people who don't pay attention will find something else to distract them.

sorry not to answer the original question, but its to vague. chances of getting into an accident in??? a week, a year, a life time, on a 10 mile trip, a 1000 mile trip. Here is a good question; among people who own a car, what is the longest a person has made it without getting into an car accident?
