Do veterinarians get a pension

Sometimes - this will depend upon the contract they negotiate with their employer. However, in the United States, if a clinic does not offer health insurance as a fringe benefit of employment, the American Veterinary Medical Association offers group health insurance benefits to all their members with some reduction in premium payments.

Obviously this is not a concern in many other countries, where universal health insurance is provided by the national government.
