What is the benefit of having freedom of religion and what would happen if we didn't have it?

A benefit of having freedom of religion is that people can choose what religion to follow without fear of being persecuted. Also, people have to learn to accept that religion because there is nothing they can do about it.

If we didn't have freedom of religion you wouldn't be asking this question because you'd know the answer!

Life would be boring, except of course from the seeking out of people who refuse to follow the chosen religion.

There are many examples of what happens without freedom of religion in History, and still today. Mary Queen of Scots and Lady Jane Grey (the Nine Days Queen) are just two examples out of many.
