The Corolla Wild Horse Fund is a 501 c 3 nonprofit located in Corolla, NC. Our mission is to protect, preserve, and responsibly manage the herd of wild Colonial Spanish Mustangs roaming freely on the northernmost Currituck Outer Banks, and to promote the continued preservation of this land as a permanent sanctuary for horses defined as a cultural treasure by the state of North Carolina. We operate a free Wild Horse Museum that is open year round. Every Tuesday and Thursday from Memorial Day through Labor Day, we offer children's activities from 11 - 2. Every Wednesday from Memorial Day through Thanksgiving we bring a gentled Spanish Mustang to the Museum grounds. July 7,8,9, we hold Wild Horse Days. The three day celebration helps to create awareness regarding the crticially endngered/nearly extinct status of the wild horses and how the public can help in our efforts to save them. www.corollawildhorses.org
