Why is costume important?

We dress up for Halloween because it is a celebration and it is just a way of celebrating it.

Originally it was believed that on Halloween evil was at its most powerful. To make sure people were not attacked by these evils they wore masks to blend in the evils about them. As time went on people realised that these mythical evils did not exist and it turned into a celebration. Shops got onto to it to make money like with most seasons and that is why we now have kids trick or treating in haloween costumes
