Disadvantages of using posters in schools?

While posters definitely have many advantages to aid in a student's learning, they must be properly prepared and on-topic. If the poster is not on topic or a poorly made poster, it becomes a prop of distraction for the students. Also, posters can be costly, so not all schools can afford the cost offset of using props for learning.
