What is enphazema?

Emphysema is a chronic lung condition characterized by the destruction of the alveoli, the tiny air sacs in the lungs responsible for gas exchange. This damage leads to reduced airflow and difficulty breathing, often resulting from long-term exposure to irritants like cigarette smoke or environmental pollutants. Symptoms may include shortness of breath, a persistent cough, and wheezing. Emphysema is part of a group of diseases known as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).
