Is your best friend gay if he cries and gets angry when you ask him if he is gay or when you say he is gay?

That completely yells out straight to me honestly. Only straights act like babies when you ask if they are gay, it's really not a big deal if someone asks, and if they are gay they will tense up, get all awkward, most likely say no, but if they say yes what is the doubt that they are gay?
