Why was the new Egyptian flag made?

The new Egyptian flag was adopted in 1984 to replace the previous design, which had been in use since 1971. The change aimed to symbolize a fresh national identity and a departure from the political symbolism associated with the earlier flag. The current design features three horizontal stripes of red, white, and black, representing the blood of martyrs, peace, and the struggle against oppression, respectively, with the national emblem of the Golden Eagle of Saladin in the center.
