What year did they start putting serial numbers on a 12 gage deerfield model 67x?

The 12 gauge Deerfield Model 67X began incorporating serial numbers in 1968. Prior to this year, the shotguns did not have serial numbers, making it easier to identify those manufactured after this change. The addition of serial numbers helped with tracking production and ownership.
