What problems prevent solar powered cars from becoming popular?

The initial purchase price of the car would be pretty high.

The limited range of the car due to the inefficiency of the solar panels and the solar panels would have to be huge in order to move a street legal car with all the safety equipment that would be required.

The replacement cost of the solar panels as they wear or break.

Another would be if it's 100% solar with no battery back-up then your limited to day light driving only.
