Artur Rasizada first became acting Prime Minister of Azerbaijan on 1996 July 20, and officially became the 6th Prime Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 1996 November 26. Rasizada resigned on 2003 August 4, seemingly for health reasons, but retook the post on November 4 of that year.
