Where did Dates (the fruit) come from?

Dates originated in the Middle East, particularly in regions such as Mesopotamia, which is modern-day Iraq. They have been cultivated for thousands of years, with evidence of date cultivation dating back to around 4000 BCE. The date palm, from which the fruit is harvested, thrives in hot, arid climates, making it well-suited to desert regions. Today, dates are grown in many countries, including Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the United States.
