Why was HRH Diana Princesss of Wales not protected more by the Royal Family had they have done their job she would be alive today with her sons?

The main reason Princess Diana was not gaurded well was because she no longer was the princess of Wales, and the waiting for the line to be queen, as she was divorced from Charles.
