Ordinal level of measurement

Where you order the measurements according to some rule but there is no straightforward relationship between the categories.

For example, with measurements classified as: short, medium, tall. It is not possible to say whether the difference between medium and short is smaller than/equal to/larger than the difference between tall and medium.
