Adams had a large role. He was the attorney for the soldiers accused in the Boston Massacre. In 1776 he helped edit the Declaration and later he was sent to France to get funds and support for the war. He was at the Treaty of Paris, VP under Washington, 2 nd president of the US, and was the first to live in the White House. He was the father of six, farmer, and husband to Abigail. At the end of his presidency he retired to his farm in Quincy, MA.
