What seems to characterize the human condition in The Odyssey?

I believe that the human condition in The Odyssey is explained by the different human emotions and character traits that are described as the book is read. Heroism, Loyalty, and Courage are just a few. These human values were very important in the dark ages of the 7th century in Greece and greatly shows the livestyles of that time period.
