How long is the growing season in Africa?

Hungary has a temperate continental climate, with large differences between summer and winter seasons. Because of that the temperatures which determine the growing season show an unbalanced annual pattern; it can differ by as much as 4 weeks. It generally ranges from mid to late May to mid to late September, longer in the plains, shorter in the mountains.
