Did the Tokyo earthquake happen in Sendai?

The last time Tokyo was hit by a big earthquake was in 1923, which had a 7.9 magnitude.

The March 2011 earthquake that hit off the coast of Sendai was magnitude 9.0 and it triggered a massive tsunami.

Researchers at the University of Tokyo's earthquake research institute said "there was a 75% probability that a magnitude seven quake would strike the region in the next four years" as reported in BBC News.
