YES you absolutely do need a license if you are practicing in the US. Every state has different requirements to obtain this license. It is usually a minimum of 400 practiced hours and instruction , followed by a state exam and practical. Check out your state board of Cosmetology and barbering. A licensed Esthetician or Cosmetologist is the ONLY person allowed by law to wax professionally.
