How many Oz's per cup would it take for the formula 12 Oz per Gal?

I am using liquid carpet scotchguard. The instructions say to use 12 Oz per 1 Gallon. I do not have a liquid gallon container. My container holds 3 cups. How many Oz per cup would I use? If a cup equals 8 Oz's?
