Does the word Aboriginal break into ab as in abnormal and original you tried searching the web but all you found is that it means the natives shouldn't they be called the originals and not Aboriginal?

The English Word "aboriginal" actually derives from a similar Roman Word that referred to the original, tribal inhabitants of Italy :) The "ab-" does not refer to "abnormal". This is a misconception, like how some people think the "man" in "manager" is sexist (it's not; it too comes from the Roman language, meaning "hand") Additional information: "Ab" means "from" in Latin. "Origin" means just what it seems to - the place where something begins. Therefore "aboriginal" means "from the origin" or those people native to a region. Aboriginal specifically means "autocthonous." It is used precisely for indigenous populations. Original has many meanings and is used much more loosely. You can have original inhabitants of course, but also original invaders or original settlers.
