Statistical abuse in the media can take many forms. The most blatant would be a misuse or misrepresentation of factual data. For instance, if an organization conducted a poll of their employees, and then tallied the information, but used only the information from a certain demographic because that was the data that supported their own ideas, that would be statistical abuse.

Furthermore, if an organization or committee sets up an even that is open to the public for opinion, then uses tactics to change the mind of the pollees before they have a chance to cast their ballot, the information is then innacurate and may be simply based on the most recent information that the voters heard, and now a concensus of factual happenings and beliefs.
