What do you do about false rumors spread about you and your ex?

Laugh when you hear them and start spreading even worse ones to be funny. We all have to go through rumors (good/bad) by people as some people are just troublemakers, jealous or mean spirited. Those that are your true friends and know you both won't believe the rumors and those that can't think with their own brain and realize the rumors are just rumors aren't worth keeping as so called friends. It's called 'Shaking the old Apple tree' and this lets you both see what rotten Apples fall to the ground. Let these people that have started the rumors hang themselves! Pull out the popcorn, sit back and relax and watch the noose tighten around their own necks. I've just gone through something similar from a long time female friend of 30 years and that's exactly what I've done. My true friends knew it wasn't true and have left her and now she has only two friends left. She got the message loud and clear!
