What gave the idea to have slaves?

When humans thought it was ok to value the life of another. It is a very deep founded pshycological and social discussion, and slavery only works if one human being thinks their life is worth more than the other persons, and so their time can be 'stolen' for the benefit of another.

It is accepted we should be paid for our work, and time. Slavery opposes this beleif.

Still, there are other forms of slavery, such as spiritual slavery, where our entire life, and existence is measured by a salary, or how much we are paid per hour. It essentially sugests that conciousness can only survive and stay alive if a certain amount of effort is put into working to maintain food, houses etc.
