What are the sex chromosomes for the male and female?

X and Y chromosomes contain the genes that will determine a persons sex. The pairing of the two that will allow the person to be a male is (X,Y) and if the person is to be a female the pattern will be (X,X). In terms of size the (Y) chromosomes is smaller than the (X) but the over all shape of the chromosomes are the same.
