How long does it spring on wolfquest?

When you start episode 2 / quest 2 / Slough Creek, it is Winter by default (as of 2.5+) to reflect the mating/birthing times of real wolves. After you complete the mark your territory mission, the season will jump from winter to spring as your pups are born (again, reflecting real wolves; WQ is educational after all;). After this happens and you've named your pups, it will remain Spring/Summer.
