How do you do long division with decimals?

if you are doing something like .5 divided by 1 put a decimal at the top where the answer ends up and change .5 to 5. 1 goes into 5 five time so your answer is .5. if you have something like 1 divided by .5 move the decimal over once on both numbers which is 10 divided by 5 and 5 goes into10 2 times so your answer would be 2.
First do the division with out the decimals than estimate the question place the decimal where it makes sense in contrast to your estimation
