Slavery is still practiced in Sudan. Villages, homes are invaded, fathers killed and children taken from the home of Christians in South Sudan. These children are then sold by their Moslem captors to other Moslems in the north . They are kept in chains and treated with the respect of a dog, if that. Relief groups have gone to Sudan and purchased the slaves back so that they can be returned to their families. The debate is whether this encourages it to happen again. Regardless, children returned to their families is a wonderful thing.
