Gideon (גִּדְעוֹן), also named Jerubbaal (יְרֻבַּעַל), was a Jewish military leader, judge and prophet whose calling and victory over the Midianites are recounted in the chapters 6 to 8 of the Book of Judges in the Hebrew Bible.
