How far back does New Jersey go on background checks?

typically employers go back 7 years on a county level and 10 years on a state level.

Only serious felony convictions that require jail time would possibly be a problem.

i wouldn't worry about misdemeanorsand such. Employers will also do a credit check

I had a conviction when i was 22 and have had several jobs since then that do background checks and it never came up. That was thirty years ago. What employers are looking for is whether your going to be a threat to there company or employees.

Of course every case is based on its on merit and extenuating curcumstances. If you have a solid work history and they like you then i wouldn't worry.
