I was placed on a security guard detail but we are not issued weapons and I haven't found any ARs regarding the carrying of batons can I carry one while on this duty?

You can be issued batons or even lethal weapons while on security detail, if it is deemed appropriate to do such. If batons are not being issued for the detail, it was probably seen as unnecessary. If you feel that it's pertinent to carry one, you need to make your case to the NCOIC of that detail.
