Did anyone ever score a hat trick with three unassisted goals in then NHL?

There are two known instances: Maurice Richard in March of 1948 against the Rangers in Madison Square Garden. He actually scored 4 goals in that game.

Rick Nash of Columbus on March 7, 2009 in an 8-2 rout of the Red Wings was the

first to do it in 61 years since.
