If you like to straighten and curl your hair a lot, practice on somebody else. If you do this daily, even on a wig on a dummy, it should only take about a month or so.

Depending upon the state in which you reside, approximately 1600 classroom hours must be completed in order to become eligible to take the State Board Licensing Exam. Once this exam is completed and passed, a Cosmetology License will be issued and you will be free to work in a hair salon.
