What kind of drug is often used to cure disease and relieve pain?

hey im 15 so take rely on me with your life...but theres:

ibuprofen...(i-bee-pro-fen)

ummm...advil (pronounced as seen)

morphine...but that's only prescribed and used in the army.

ummmmm....vicodin. (pronounced as seen) only by prescription

those are the only i can think of...but there are also shots and pills that numb your body but idk the name
