Is there any alternative to using paper?

There are two alternatives. One is using the Electronic memory exepting when you need hard doc for Leagal/statute purpose. Other one is using your brain/memory like saints in India during Veda Period when everything was communicated through voice and hearing only. Only later the Palm leaves came in to existance.
