When did orienteering reach Britain?

Orienteering was introduced to Britain in the late 1960s. The first organized event took place in 1967 at the University of London. The sport gained popularity quickly, leading to the establishment of the British Orienteering Federation in 1968. Since then, it has grown significantly, with numerous clubs and events across the country.
