Were is the release button on a Pontiac g8 gt gas lid?

left bottom side of drivers seat near the seat adjustment controls look where the hood release is, its right in front of it

No no no!! There is no release for it. If the car is unlocked, you just push on the gas lid and it pops open. (And if locked, pushing on it does nothing).
